The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ Made Easier

 



For something different, I want to share something I found. While looking up Book of Mormon editions on Archive.org, I found an interesting version of the Book of Mormon. It was created by a man named Gregory Boucher and added to Archive.org on the 19th of January 2025. Here is the description of the book:

"This book is a faithful copy of the Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ; in addition, this book contains a verse-by-verse collection of commentary on the Book of Mormon, offered by many religious scholars and leaders of the Church. 
    This book does not purport to be an authorized copy of the Book of Mormon, nor does it claim any authority from current or past leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This being said, it has been my intention to render every verse and footnote available to anyone who reads the Book of Mormon, as well as other additional light and knowledge available to anyone who seeks God’s truth." 

This is a great resource to see commentary from church leaders on particular verses. I have only just started looking through the book and I have already learned so much. This is how I found about the Richard L. Evans Talk. 

So, if you are wanting help studying the book of Mormon, I highly suggest this resource. The link for it is provided below. I have reached out to the author asking a few questions. If he answers, I might make a follow up to this post.

          The poem below was included in the first edition of the Pearl of Great Price, published in 1851 along aside texts like the book of Abraham and Joseph Smith History. It was written by John Jaques, a convert to the church in England. He wrote it in response to Pilate's question to Jesus in John 18. Reed Smoot April 1933

       General Conferences in the LDS Church have been going on since the church was founded almost 200 years ago. The people who spoke in these conferences were prophets and apostles, people, teachers of God's will. Imperfect people chosen by God to lead his church in the modern era. Despite being decades old, these talks may still have things to teach us. Diligence in Preaching to the World—Providences of God Around the Saints—Charity—God’s Spirit Distributed Among All Mankind—Trials, &c

Brigham Young, the second prophet of the restoration, was the largest contributor to the Journal of Discourses, with a total of 90 sermons. He had a fierier form of teaching, using strong language to get the point across, sometimes causing controversy in the Modern day. Some words in this very sermon might cause one to feel uncomfortable. This sermon was located in the seventh volume and was transcribed by George D. Watts. In the talk, he talks about the importance of Charity, his desire not to be rich himself or anyone to be rich, and the horrors of war. This was an interesting one. In this one, I try to something different. While reading it, some sections stood out to me, and I underlined them to add a personal touch.
